
About Jack Jewers
Jack Jewers is an award-winning writer, filmmaker and visual artist.
Passionate about telling stories in all media, Jack’s body of work crosses film, TV, and digital. His films have been screened at some of the world’s biggest festivals, including the Cannes Film Festival, London’s FrightFest, the Hay Festival, the Marseille Web Fest, and at Bloomsday in Dublin.
In 2023 Jack went viral for a series of six films he created for the 400th anniversary celebrations of Shakespeare’s First Folio. The inVerse shorts, one of which was filmed partly in space, were covered by over 200 news outlets worldwide, with a reach of nearly a billion people. Among the many plaudits, CNN picked a still from the films as one of their images of the year.
Jack has received several accolades for his film work, including a nomination for Best Short Film by BAFTA Wales and an award from the Royal Television Society . He has been interviewed numerous times on TV, radio and podcast, for outlets such as the BBC, ITV and NPR. In addition, he has been invited to speak at film and TV industry events, including London ComiCon and Series Mania in Paris.
Jack’s visual art has been exhibited at spaces including The Box Gallery and St. Martin-in-the-Fields.
Away from the cinema in all its forms, Jack has a deep interest in literature and history. His debut novel, The Lost Diary of Samuel Pepys, was published to rave reviews in 2022. It was named an historical fiction book of the year by The Times, the Independent and the FT. He is currently working on a sequel entitled The Winter Queen, due out in 2025.
Jack has appeared as a guest at several literary festivals, including the Harrogate Crime Writing Festival, the Chiswick Book Festival, the Chester Literary Festival, and Lyme Crime.
He lives near London in a town full of ghosts and spies, with his wife, the author Ava Glass.
